When photographer Linnea Voss disappeared for four days in Oregon's Cascade wilderness, she told search and rescue teams she'd simply gotten turned around chasing a shot of a Roosevelt elk. But the scratches on her arms told a different story, as did her refusal to sleep without every light in the hospital room blazing—and her insistence that something with too-long limbs had watched her drive away.
